Astral Possession
Late submission for LoJam x GDS 2024.
Even though I was too late to submit the game to the jam, I took an extra day to finish the game.
Astral Possession is a simple arcade style platformer Gameboy Color Game. You play as a cute ghost that can possess 2 different NPC characters. Avoid giant spiked balls and collect coins. Collect 10 coins and you get teleported to a new level. Try to beat all 9 levels.
The game jams theme was Flipside. Staying inside of that theme you can only access half of the screen at a time. To access the other half PRESS B to possess the sleeping NPC on the other side.
If you're able too download the included ROM and play in your emulator of choice or Gameboy Color.

Nice. Any plan for more levels?
I was thinking about coming back to this game. I think it has potential for some fun levels and a adding in some variety of the obstacles. Then I can also try to clean up some of the bugs and add in some other features. It could be a fun little pick up and play arcade style game.
We very much encourage you to do so :) You already have a solid base, would be a waste if you don't do more with it
Yes please make more levels. It's such a nice game. Thanks!
Enjoyable Gameboy arcade game where you control a cute ghost, possess sleeping NPCs, gather coins and avoid spiked balls. Despite minor bugs, its simplicity, nice pixel art and execution are impressive and I had a great time playing it !
Here's my full gameplay video if you're curious to see how it plays :
Thanks for checking my game out and for the great video. If I get some time to revisit this game I hope to resolve those bugs.
